As a conceptual interdisciplinary lens-based artist, Archer works across video, moving image, and photography, exploring the human condition through a lens of hyperrealism. Sometimes absurd and other times surreal, both allow futile territory for us to dream. She imagines and creates worlds both big and small in studio using the abstract as an icebreaker to larger conversations. Her practice challenges the boundaries between mediums, blurs lines, and pushes for innovative thinking.
INNERVERSE
The "Overview Effect" describes a profound cognitive shift that astronauts experience when viewing the Earth's curvature from space, which can alter their perspective on existence. Similarly, each energetically charged Innerverse allows for a perspective shift outside of the encapsulated radicalized euphoria, observing the thoughts from a mindful state, which brings the viewer into a state of equanimity amidst inflamed discourse. You are not your thoughts.
These bulbous enigmas evolve with abnormalities, moving away from order towards mutant behavior. The emotional range represented through their radical palette transpires out of this physical world and out of gamut. Therefore, they could never traverse from the digital to the physical world without misrepresentation of its true colors because of its conversion from RGB to CYMK.
Amid an algorithmically induced era of depression, anxiety, and post-truth information, this series offers a mindful technique that allows viewers to transcend the human emotional experience and awaken untethered. Innerverse invites a cognitive transformative shift in perception, provoking a sense of awe and objective awareness in the face of turbulent times.

THE BUBBLE IS BRIEF AND SPECTACULAR LASTING ONLY SECONDS. THEIR MAGIC AND MYSTERY SLOWS TIME. ITS A FRAGILE FLOATING LUMINOUS NEBULA THAT EMBODIES THE QUINTESSENTIAL IMPERMANENCE OF LIFE. ITS BURSTING IS A REMINDER THAT THE MOST CAPTIVATING PHENOMENA ARE ONLY A BLIP IN THE UNIVERSE.
EACH TITLE IS A TIMESTAMP THAT REPRESENTS THE MINUTE OF ITS ENTIRE EXISTENCE IN PACIFIC STANDARD TIME. THE SEEMING WHIMSY OF EACH IMAGE ENCAPSULATES THE BUBBLE'S ENIGMATIC LIFESPAN, FROM BIRTH TO DEATH.
